I painted this while on vacation in Pass Christian, Mississippi, one of my favorite places in the world. I made the water a little more textural than I care for because I mixed my paint at the beginning of the week and was so relaxed, I didn’t get to painting until the end of the week. By the time I got to it, it had dried and clumped a little, but I powered on through anyway.
I’m liking the tension that’s coming out between the light ultramarine sky and the bright orange fishing cork in the lower right corner of the picture.
11×14″ oil on canvas.
