My Uncle Lee has been a big encouragement to me and helped direct me to think about and capture things with my art that I otherwise wouldn’t. One of the things he’s suggested is that I focus more on the ground, less on the sky (or something like that).

So when I went out to the beach today, I did just that. Paying attention to the mineral rich water of the Mississippi Gulf Coast opened my eyes to the myriad of color there.

This is one of two paintings I made of the same view. The first was bought by my fishing buddy Ralph. Tear ’em up Ralph!

12×14″ Acrylic on paper.
