Because this weekend is the a last before that wretched enemy, Daylight Savings Time, ends, I wanted to try to do one last after-work painting.
I left the office and buzzed down HWY 78 to Metal Museum Drive and DeSoto Park in Memphis.
One of my new favorite views in Memphis, just south of downtown, is on a bluff at the top of an ancient Chicksaw Indian mound overlooking the Mississippi River bend.
It was a good time, except for the swarm of mosquitos that attacked me. At one point, I looked up and behind me to see a cloud of mosquitos just hovering over my head. That’s when I crazily packed up all my gear and ran to my car.
The result, lots of itchiness and this satisfying little 11×14″ landscape of the sunset over the Mississippi.
