Sailboat at Patriot Lake

Recently, I was showing some of my recent work to my neighbor, who’s an art collector. He mentioned that in landscapes, he likes to see that little something—a person, animal or thing that helps gives a painting some interest.

In this case, it was a little sailboat with a bright white sail that a guy was sailing this windy evening on Patriot Lake at Shelby Farms in Memphis.

8×10″ oil on canvas.
