After two outings near the radio controlled airstrip at Shelby Farms, I called it quits on this big mixed media landscape.

I had all intent to go back and give it one more finishing pass, but decided I liked the ethos of it, and called it done. I guess that’s a testament to the idea that a painting is never really finished, just abandoned.

I love how truly dense and full of life (and rain clouds) this scene feels. Very true to late spring in the Memphis area.
