Weird Hot Clouds at Shelby Farms

I had the pleasure of painting for a few hours after work today (thanks Shea!). It was typical Memphis—oppressively hot and humid. The heat index was over 100 degrees. For some reason around here, the hotter and more miserable the heat and humidity is, the weirder and cooler the clouds can be. This evening they were super puffy with an orange-pink ozoney film.

I wanted to work bigger than I have been working and on a slightly different surface so I painted this 16×20″ in oil on canvas.
